Similar drug usage by both guys. But Gary looked like he had abandoned free-weights... and trained strictly on machines at this point. JD looks like he was built with heavy free weights.
Gary had a quite different way of training, he didn't count reps, he used a clock. While he was in the Gold's Gym Finland he start with the stationary bike, then went in this hack- machine and start repping:

After 5 minutes the owner put a bucket under the machine so the sweat would drain in it instead of the floor. He did reps something like 10-12 minutes using whole weight stack, 200kg
