If you are natty, then squats will be a major growth hormone releaser , for the whole body, because it uses so many muscles, and it's especially effective just prior to isolation moves. Just go ATG, as ROM is important, and increase the weights gradually. You're building the body, not in a weight lifting contest.
And try using a squat safety bar. Trying to balance the bar on your back, is a cause of a lot of injuries. Again, your not training for Power Lifting.
