Why do you post nothing but bad news in a good news thread?

Sometimes he comes across as reasonable, but he's caught up in partisanship.

I would argue that "sometimes" is really more like "rarely."

Regardless, partisanship is a characteristic of misinformed, simple people.

Historically, the 2nd & 3rd quarters of the midterm election year tend to be the weakest in the marketís four-year Presidential election cycle.

Itíll be interesting to see how those periods pan out this particular cycle.

That's our "Primemuscle," always going against the grains of normalcy and decency while turning a blind eye to facts...

Who defines decency and normalcy? You? If so, each definition is only your opinion and not a given. That being the case, I am only going against your grain. I'll continue to do that when I deem it appropriate, because you do not set the standards around here and neither do I. I try to admit when something is my or some other sources opinion and not a fact.

Here is an example of what is fact and not someone's opinion. Trump sometimes makes contradictory statements when tweeting and/or talking to the press. This is a fact. Whether or not he intentionally does this is unprovable. Therefore, no person can prove he knows what he's doing accept him. So, to state that he is fully aware of it is an opinion. IMO everyone slips up every so often, which is an example of something I cannot prove.

Next up, but later, we can talk about logical verses illogical opinions.

....Or, a so far steadfast opinion regarding gun control options which are in opposition with many Republicans and the NRA, but pander more to those who are insisting on it....mostly the left or "liberals" as some would say.

On a personal level, less income tax is great. So far, I've seen about a $150 increase in monthly income since the new tax laws took effect, part of which are the standard annual increases I get each year to help keep up with the CPI.  It might or might not have been even better if my income weren't mainly derived from retirement annuities and SSI. One can only hope that I won't lose it all and more when filing my taxes next year which is when itemized deductions are supposedly reduced. Yes, the standard deduction will go up. Whether the net for me is a gain or a loss remains to be seen. -Hope it is a gain because most of my retirement income falls short of CPI increases. Hypothetically, if I live long enough, at this rate, I will be in the 'poor house'.

If only I'd win the lottery.

Trump Eyes 10% Spending Cuts, 20% Slash Of Federal Workers
The Washington Examiner ^ | 01/17/17 | PAUL BEDARD
Posted on 01/17/2017 6:49:57 AM PST by Enlightened1

Making good on a promise to slash government, President-elect Trump has asked his incoming team to pursue spending and staffing cuts.

Insiders said that the spending reductions in some departments could go as high as 10 percent and staff cuts to 20 percent, numbers that would rock Washington if he follows through.

At least two so-called "landing teams" in Cabinet agencies have relayed the call for cuts as part of their marching orders to shrink the flab in government.

The cuts would target discretionary spending, not mandated programs such as Medicare or Social Security, the sources said.

The spending reductions are expected to be used to help pay for Trump's plan to boost the Pentagon's budget, tax cuts and some pet projects, potentially including the anti-immigration wall on the nation's southern border.

The teams also are looking at staffing cuts over four years through attrition, a hiring freeze and reorganization.

The plan is winning cheers in conservative, anti-tax and anti-spending corners in Washington that have long sought massive cuts in the bureaucracy.

Presidents rarely cut spending, choosing freezes instead. In the meantime, federal spending has reached historic levels. Trump has picked a budget hawk, Rep. Mick Mulvaney, to head the Office of Management and Budget, a clear sign that spending cuts are a top priority.

Still, Trump is likely to face a wall of opposition from Democrats and federal unions who consider much of the federal workforce on their side.

^^ Another "positive" contribution from our resident ostrich, who still "can't" understand how posts like these go against the grain of a thread dedicated to highlighting the positive accomplishments of the 45th President of the United States.
