New terminology for me except for "Scrub the deck, boot!"
I might believe the Thailand remark but it would be more valid if it pertained to most any worldwide seaport and not just Thailand.
The second attempt defining "scrub" could possibly be in violation of the Geneva Convention but I've never ran into that situation, so I could be completely wrong.
Scuttlebutt from the Vietnam days .... we supposedly had to desert a few members of he US armed forces because they came in contact with an sexual disease that was extremely contagious and absolutely un-curable.
Scuttlebutts are based on comments within the military which could possibly be based on fact but is often simply bullshit but interesting to discuss.
Somehow that story had some connection to a cave on a mountain-top just south of Danang but I have forgotten those details.
Does any GetBigger recall hearing something similar?
While on this subject ......The APOCAlYPSE NOW scenes about Brando's character leading a rag-tag bunch of indigenous 'warriors' is actually based on fact and some of my troops ran into a similar situation in a remote jungle village but were unable to pull him out as he had no desire to leave.
Long story there but it was somewhat strange to see something similar in the movie and I did have a chance to discuss it with Martin Sheen a few years later.
