I actually agree with this assessment. Flex'd condition was insane in 1993, but he never looked that good again. Compare him to Shawn Ray who was consistent year in year out from the late 80's to 2001.

Agreed. Looked great in 93 and then became a watery oil bag. Laziest trainer besides dillet

Phil is no where near flex

Ronnie is absolutely destroying Flex in all of those pics. The only area where Flex has an advantage in abs. Flex had great lines, but was really narrow.

I'm not comparing them side by side. The 90's>present but Flex was still overrated during the 2nd half of his pro career. Fake calves, oily delts, arms, blurry abs, and he trained with the intensity of a housewife. He never deserved a Sandow and I'm glad he never got one.

At the 97 Arnold, he was 224, and 280 pound Nasser was livid that he lost to someone that he out weighed by 56 pounds.

Flex at his 93 body weight could in theory beat a 98 Ronnie---it depends on what the judges wanted. In terms of freakiness, Ronnie would win all day. In terms of keeping weight down, establishing a marketable product, Flex would have been ideal.
