I competed in the men's open  at Mike Quinn's first contest when he was a 18-19 yr old teen BB.
Even that young he had the massive guns and delts.
This was the 1979 or 80 AAU Mr Bay State in Worcester Mass.
I remember seeing him backstage pumping up , all wild eyed, doing rapid seated presses.

I thought he was supposed to be coming out with a book about his life or something? I remember him talking about it in an interview, side note: guy gives great interviews, raw, unfiltered, real straight shooter...shame he didn't invest in his future, he made good money when he was competing.

An older friend of mine went to train with him years ago.

Said friend was a very good bodybuilder, but not necessarily swimming in the deep end of the pool yet.

He came back from that trip disillusioned with the "sport".  Realized just how many chemicals (recreational and steroids) were involved.
