Serious question: Why do happy single guys feel pressured to get married w/kids?

I've known all kinds of dudes who were happy and enjoyed their single bachelor lifestyle.
At some point they start feeling guilty or something and "settle down".

They end up married and have kids which makes them feel trapped.
Then they sneak around and hope they don't get caught.
They become distant from their wife and rarely have quality sex with her.
The kids are stressful and he starts to long for his old single life.

I like being married and never wanted kids and know some guys who love being "family men".
But I've known a lot more that "settle down" and act like some invisible force is making them do it.

If a guy's happy single and makes enough $$ to pay his bills, why make such a drastic change and be Unhappy?

I took pride in competing in Untested NPC shows without using juice.
Most natural contests seemed small and poorly organized, so I did NPC contests.

I grew up with a great athlete who played Div I football (QB)  back in the 1970's.
He ended up moving back to our hometown in NH and married his HS sweetheart.

A few years into the marriage and both sets of parents started pressuring them for grand kids.
He caved and they had a boy and girl.

Once I asked him how it really was being a parent and he replied ;
" Kids suck the life out of ya."

Good post and I never got seriously involved with a woman that didn't have a good career ( make her own $).

I went thru 3 different divorces and the only thing I ever paid was the Uncontested divorce fee for the lawyer and court filing .

You have filters which appear to make you less than open minded about certain things. Have you no stories about someone who enjoys being a parent? What did your dad think about you when you were a kid?

Let's get down to the nuts and bolts of this.  

So there you are.  You're married.  And you're fucking your wife regularly.  What kind of security measures were in place?  Always condoms?  Has your pecker never actually touched a vag?  Or is she on pills?  Implant?  And you'd rely on that?  Just pulling it out and jizzing on her would be kind of risky in case you get a little pre-squirt or some dribble-down onto the slit so I doubt you trusted that.  Did you get snipped?  How did this all work?
