Train like a bodybuilder or a power lifter and you will lose the fight. Devote yourself to mat time. Run both sprints and distance. Train with sparring, bag work and body weight exercises. You can throw in maybe 3 or 4 weight exercises for explosive purposes like cleans, snatches, squats and military press. The bench will do nothing for your athletics attributes.
Having a 400 horse power engine with no fuel in the tank will result in getting slaughtered.
