Good thread:  out of sheer coincidence, for about a week or so I've been listening to Broadcastify to go to sleep - top feed of the top 25 is the Chicago Police.  I was amazed at how often 'shots fired' was called (and the laid back normality of the response).  That along with the shockingly frequent (it seemed) requests for body collections...

Um, I suspect the majority of crime in the Southside of Chicago is gang violence (one gang member killing another gang members). For the most part, its not just random citizen walking up to random citizens and killing each other or gang members killing random citizens. Its most likely tied to drug turf and drug trade, human trafficking and prostitution, between different gangs. No doubt innocent civilians get killed, but as stated above, its more likely than not, killings between gang members. That is why the numbers are so high.
