He is his child's father, nothing more. What he thinks he knows means nothing. He is not an expert on transgenderism. Why would anyone give credence to what he claims? Seriously, how would a 2-year-old know they were transgender.

What??  He is the child's father so he gets to make all decisions regarding the child's health and wellbeing.  So what he thinks means everything for that child.  He's deranged. 

And yes most kids with gender dysphoria grow out of it.  They wind up being either straight or gay.

In my post I agreed that this crackpot father's opinion about his child's gender is nuts. And unfortunately, he definitely can make decisions regarding the child's health and wellbeing.

Is it not true that conservative viewpoints generally prioritize parental rights? This father's insane and misguided ideas are an example of why that is not always in the best interests of the child.

It's common sense to prioritize parental rights.  That doesn't extend to abuse or neglect.

Right. But we were discussing this particular parent’s rights with regards to their child’s gender dysphoria. How do you feel about him deciding when it is time to start his child on puberty blockers to transition from male to female. Fortunately, gender affirming surgeries are usually not performed prior to age eighteen.
