i was able to get 10 good strict full reps with 65 pounds, meanwhile i can close grip bench press 225 for 10 wtf

anyways, what's the best way to increase full squat strength? 5 reps, 10 reps, 20 reps, and how often per week?
i'm not looking to gain any size really, i just want to greatly increase my strength
even 185 for 10 full strict reps would be acceptable, but not 65 pounds
