VR or AR for Bodybuilders and Athletes???
« on: January 09, 2017, 11:10:18 AM »
I'm no expert when it comes to Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality (AR) but I'm smart enough to visualize that both will have a big effect on and change social networking for the better.

The Computer Electronics Show is here in town and  I have been discussing VR and AR with some damn intelligent individuals.

If you are not familiar with VR or AR, Google both and get an ed-u-ma-ca-tion of the next Best Big Thing to Come and the future it holds for athletes, bodybuilder, and industrious GetBiggers.

I had the opportunity to watch an Oculus Rift VR demonstration and was slightly amazed when I was threatened by a dinosaur who merely smelled  my armpits and proceeded to walk over me with no further interest.

Then I was asked if I had a fear of heights ... and after saying "Nope!" I found myself on top of some tower on a very tall building and immediately realized that I was definitely afraid of heights.

That was just a small part of that amazing VR demonstration.

Today you can purchase that Rift headset for about $600 and play VR games if you have a Windows computer that can drive it. (Some GetBiggers may already have a RIFT.)

But in the future VR 'games' will be a thing of the past when major international companies enter the picture and enable you GetBiggers
to become the principal actor within your very own VR presentation and enter the homes of millions who seek your training advice.

That  alone will  change social networking as we know it today.

Next up .... Japanese companies and their Virtual Reality sex pariphenalia and augmented reality.

Pro football players already use VR to see game situations, and there's talk of having referees utilize it.

Not sure how it would pertain to BB, unless it set up virtual simulated schmoe-negotiation sessions so they can learn to maximize $$.

Give it time and maybe the movie industry will follow suit.

How many times would people pay to watch a film where they can see something different every time?

Thanks, GRAPE. Actually the possibilities within the bodybuilding world are endless.

OK,  here's a brief mention of Augmented Reality.

AR headsets allow you to see your surroundings and maps everything within the room in which you use it.

That means that it knows where all the furniture is located and the room dimensions.

In the short demo I saw ... there was a mechanical monster who busted through the wall in my front room and proceeded to shoot at me with futuristic bullets and little metal flying objects.

That 'monster' was able to avoid any collision with any of the furniture in my room and I could shoot back and do my best to protect myself and destroy the intruders.

I believe that that demo is now available somewhere on the net.

Other business application are also available.

CES insiders tell me that something new will be available soon that incorporates both VR and AR which will be developed  th rough the joint efforts of Samsung and Sony .... but that is another rumor.

LOCAL .... Google this ...'Life-like Customized Asian Sex Dolls from Japan'

WALLER, I believe that there is a VR theater or VR ARCADE someplace in the US already and that James Cameron is presently working with VR equipment for some future project.

The above are only rumors though.

Another rumor is that SONY and SAMSUNG are developing something uniquely new within the VR/AR world

I think it'd be a cool experience. Over here they have a roller coaster with VR headsets on the seats. I'd like to give that a go.

I have the PS4 VR.  It's sick.  so much fun.  I played as batman and was perched on a ledge and I was physically worried to take a step forward in fear of falling.  Some games were horrible and caused a stomach ache.  They're the ones that as you change your POV the screen darts to that view.  The better games have the smoother transition that don't make you sick.  Sony is planning VR movies which will be awesome.

WALLER, Is the roller coaster demo in one of the stores or in a theater or in an arcade?

Diablo.  I felt likewise when I stood on the tip top of that tall building and instinctively put my hands out to grab something for balance even though I could not see what I was grabbing for.

Haha, happened to me.  I was sitting at a table in a bar and I leaned my body over to rest my elbows and fell forward off of my chair. here was a lit cigar that I kept trying to pick up and put in mouth and bopped myself in the teeth with the controller. It definitely messes with your mind.

I hate to beat a dead horse here but in the near future GetBiggers will have the opportunity to make a shitload of money by offering training services or commentaries related to the world of bodybuilding  via virtual reality presentations  which are somewhat similar but vastly more productive than today's YouTube 'businesses'.

If you have the slightest interest  in VR, AR, and MR as it exists today and where it will be taking us tomorrow, I would suggest that you watch the video productions on YouTube for the following:

VR ....
AR ...
MR ... Merged Reality, a combination of bothVR and AR and Intel's first jump into this Reality  business.

Yeah, I have a Vive.

Too fucking hot in Australia to use right, now, though - the eyepieces steam up in about 5 seconds of use :)

I haven't used retro arcade - I was tempted, though - I played through Donkey Kong Country 1 on saturday night, that would have been pretty cool in VR.

Last time I had someone over to try the Vive, he let his 8 year old play on it and she was going crazy in job simulator in the chef section and we're watching the screen, laughing and she trips over and faceplants in the garage door.

Luckily, she was wearing an extremely expensive helmet  :-\

I've tried this vr stuff as well but I don't get any motion sickness or any of the other weird sensations others feel. as a matter of fact I think this has a long way to go before it becomes impressive enough to purchase.

Yeh.

The VR today is lacking.

Wait til you can implement your own characters and images in the VR, then you could grab some IronMeister Photoshops and implement Tbombz, Gay4It, Goodrum et al in the VR experience, flashlight optional.

Yea, it does look like Porn Virtual Reality will be the next big thing. It's already underway in Japan where a couple of major manufacturers are making the sexual apparatus to make it 'like the real thing'.

But ... Here's the real future for anyone involved within this new mode of communication.

Everyone will eventually have the capability of staring in there own MR production and appear in millions of homes worldwide doing whatever it is that you do best.

It will be a major step in replacing your own personal internet page or instagram or face book, or etc., etc.

And if you are in public demand .... you can charge huge fees for access.

And as time evolves, it can only improve beyond your own imagination.

Check out the MR product that INTEL is presently working on to see the start of what the future holds.

It's called Project Alloy and the following  address might take you there:

newsroom.intel.com/press-kits/project-alloy

AND WATCH THE INTERACTIVE PARTY VIDEO ON THAT PAGE.
