I can point you to any of the low income, Mexican families in San Antonio, TX that raise 5-6 children from birth to young adult on less than 65K each year.

Stupid to say a set figure, a mate of mine I grew up with he and his brothers got fed tiny portions so their mother could keep back dole money for drinking at the weekend, I bet their upbringing cost a lot less than a kid a few streets ower who was spoiled rotten and fat.

Not saying kids dont drain you money because having kids mean you need a bigger house and a bigger car etc.

A lot of kids raised in those environment becomes a burden to society and end up in prison so that should tell you something

I know brah and I agree. Just pointing out it is hard to connect a figure to it. But that figure in the OP seems rather high imho. I have 3 kids and it is costly indeed in many direct and indirect ways.

Figure seems slightly high but yeah having kids is not for me. Would rather buy more guns, motorcycles, sportscar, outdoor/camping gear and other things that interest me.

Not to mention loss of sleep and freedom.

That comes out to over 13K per year, there is no way that is accurate. I have two little boys and it does get tough at times but most of the time it is a lot of fun.
