Meh.  The world has always been in chaos.  It's just more in your face now with the 24/7 connection to the internet.  I would recommend that you get out and socialize with people.  That might make you realize that most of the world is actually fairly normal and you only see the 1% who are wackos on TV and youtube because they are the ones that get the ratings.

We are witnessing the end of the post-cold war era.
What we are seeing the the old structures being challenged in front of our eyes. Hence the cramping.
Established Economic and political systems are trying to hang on the cliff with few fingers slipping already. They refuse to renew themselves.
In addition to that there is the geopolitical dimension causing visible chaos we hear about in news.

We are living historical times.

I'm still an optimist.
Change of this scale is always scary and unpredictable. But the history shows we as a specie are able to adapt to new environment relatively quickly.

If there is any danger to civilization it isn't the situation that we find ourselves in. There is nothing new under the sun. If we fought previous wars the way we do now we would have lost all of them.

When we interned the Japs in WW2 it wasn't a very big controversy. There was real evidence that we had been infiltrated and there were spies working and conspiring against us. We didn't know whom but we knew they were out there. But we also knew that in war the only thing -- that absolutely only thing -- is that we win. Nothing else mattered. And we have to do anything and everything to win. Including fighting dirty and brutally. People back then understood that.

During the Cold War there was a term referred to as the Iron Curtain. Them, the enemy, and us, the good guys. There was no free travel between the Soviet Bloc countries and the US. No student exchange programs between America and Poland or East Germany. Any ties to Communist countries and you were not allowed into the US with very few and extreme exceptions and even then you were watched closely. No controversy. This is what you do when you are dealing with nations that want to destroy us.

Now we cry and call Trump a racist because he wants to vet Muslims coming from Iran or Yemen.

There is nothing going on today that we haven't dealt with in the past. The difference is us. We've become soft, complacent and worry more about hurting people's feelings and offending them then doing what must be done to defend our freedom. Just look at pussified Europe. They are like the "canary in the mines" for the US. What happens to them will eventually happen to us if we don't grow some balls and quit giving in to the panties who never paid a price for their freedom and had it just handed to them which is why they take it for granted and think that civilize society just happens by itself.
