Why are girls so socially ignorant and weird?

Had another incident today where a girl who needed the leg press after me refused to ask me if I was done, or help me unrack the weights. I was hanging around not knowing that anybody else needed it and talking to a gym buddy, and she just sort of hovered nearby and acted like she was on her phone instead of coming up and asking. Why do girls go so out of their way to ignore contact? I wanted to say something coy like "Don't worry I don't bite." but I'm sure she thought I was creepy or something. I swear you can't win with women nowadays. And she was just an average looking girl, to boot!

Modern gym, especially if commercial, are repair for weirdo of all kind, and the chance you meet a normal person are very low.
So i don't give a fuck about ppl around when i train, i don't smile, i dont' talk, i avoid eye contact, i don't want to socialize.
Back in the day, when i used to train in private gym, everybody was your friend.

The simple solution is to ask someone who looks like they might be waiting around if they need to use the equipment.  It's just common gym etiquette and only takes a couple of seconds.
