Man claims he was forced by Frontier to turn his shirt inside out because it had a picture of Trump on it and it made a flight attendant uncomfortable.

Care to explain @FlyFrontier?

Trump “stole her family” and she can’t talk to them anymore.

Serious case of TDS.

This isn't a free speech issue.  It's a Trump Derangement Syndrome issue, and how weak-minded some people can be.  I cannot imagine being triggered by someone's shirt, hat, etc.

Tell this Libs of TikTok whose closing sentence was, "last I checked there's a little thing called freedom of speech." You posted Libs of TikTok's comments, so if you did not agree with their comments, you should have clarified this.  ;)

What are you talking about?  I posted a clip of someone who is clearly suffering from TDS.

Yeah his post was a little incoherent, but I did ask him to explain.

Just to be clear, above is the clip you posted that I am talking about. The person who posted the clip was one of the folks wearing a Trump shirt, so it is safe to assume they support Trump.
Is wearing a Trump shirt now considered TDS? You could have fooled me.

Read the last sentence they wrote. They say them wearing a trump shirt is a matter of freedom of speech. Private businesses are not required to honor someone's constitutional right to freedom of speech.

If you don't agree, read this; 'Private property owners (frontier Airlines) can set rules for speech on their property. Freedom of speech protects the ability to voice our beliefs, views and ideas without the government preventing us from speaking or punishing us for what we say.

It is not an unlimited right protecting the ability to say anything, anywhere, any time. It does not apply to private companies or workplaces. But it does limit when the government can regulate speech and expression.'

Thanks for clarifying.  Two problems.

1.  That commentary is not written by Libs of Tick Tock.  It's written by the passenger who was forced to flip his shirt inside out so a flight attendant could feel safe from a positive Trump message.

2.  Again, the issue isn't free speech and that's not why I posted it.  I posted it to highlight someone who is clearly suffering from TDS.

A reasonable person can look at that story and see very clearly how that person is suffering from TDS.

And no, I don't agree with all of the commentary I post by other people.  That's a pretty simplistic conclusion.

Is there a news clip about this?  This just doesn’t seem right.  I don’t see an airline allowing their employees to force a passenger to change their clothes to get on a flight because of a message or text on a shirt, whether it’s political or otherwise.

I don't see any news stories about it, but it's not like that would make the story more credible, because they would just be repeating what the passenger alleged.

I can absolutely see individuals on an airline doing something like this.  Are you reading the stuff I'm posting in this thread?  People have lost their dang minds.

Thanks for the clarification. But I am not sure we are on the same page yet. Bear with me.

Okay right, I know the commentary was not written by Libs of Tick Tock. Libs of Tick Tock reposted it. My comments are about the person/passenger who wrote the commentary, not Libs of Tick Tock. And it is this person who implied in closing that it was a freedom of speech issue... and also who is mistaken about this, because it is not.

So which person is suffering from TDS, the guy in the shirt writing the commentary, Libs of Tic Tock, or someone else like the Frontier Airlines Employee?

It would be helpful to me if you included what you agree with and what you do not agree with in the commentary by other people and why you do or don't agree with them.

The person who doesn't understand the First Amendment (like a lot of people) isn't suffering from TDS and nothing in that commentary suggests that he has TDS.  That really is a red herring.

Clearly, the person who is unable to look at a Trump shirt has a serious problem.  You cannot seriously be suggesting that is normal behavior?

No, I'm sorry I will not parse what I agree and do not agree with in every story/commentary I post.  Too much work.  lol  But I'm always happy to discuss anything on the board.

I fly quite a lot.  An airline has procedures and guidelines their employees follow.  There would have been other gate personal there and a supervisor that could have been accessed and likely would have been accessed for something like this.

I think this might be a BS story.

I agree people have lost their minds to hate.  But this smells like BS.  The flight attendant can not like the shirts, and even feel threatened but there has to be a reasonable threat to bar a person from the fight and there is no way a shirt can do that.  Maybe the passenger was being unruly or as I said this story is BS.

Also a news story would have statements from passengers and the airlines.

You are so right, so much of what people post and say is made up BS or it has a seed of truth which they totally convolute to mean something entirely different.

I fly a lot too.  I have seen and heard some pretty crazy stories.  Did you hear about the recent story where 8 different black dudes who didn't know each other were kicked off an American Airlines flight because someone complained about body odor?

What I know about those folks is they have a lot of power and you better be nice to them and do what they say, or you will have a bad day.  lol

I'm not going to die on this hill and say the story is absolutely true.  I'm just saying it would not surprise me at all if this happened.

Yeah it never ends well if you try to defy them.  I would be surprised if this actually happened.  Something like this is gold for some news outlets.  And just like the American Airlines flight, there should be a suit filed if it were true.

What would be the basis of a lawsuit?  It's not a First Amendment violation.  It's just a bad business decision.  It's not unlawful to be stupid.  lol

Yeah First Amendment violations usually require some involvement by the government.

I think part of their power trip started when they became "cabin crew" instead of "stewardess/flight attendant" and thought they somehow became air marshals or cops and that people are at their whim just because they wear a uniform or serve drinks. Of course many passengers exhibit bad behavior, exacerbated by the Covid madness, and many times these unruly passengers are in the low cost airlines like Frontier.

Yes.  They have the authority to remove anyone they believe is giving them any kind of problem.  I don't kiss anyone's butt, but I am very careful with my attitude when I'm flying.  lol

Pop-up political protester: How one woman quit her job to hassle Trump nationwide

There's a good chance you'd recognize Nadine Seiler.

Seiler, 59, has developed a knack for being at the right place at the right time to get photographed by the media as she protests former President Donald Trump and conservative policies like the Project 2025 plan to remake the federal government.

Multiple news photographers have captured Seiler's protests across the country since at least 2019, from Chicago to Milwaukee to Miami to outside the Virginia home of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

This isn't how she'd planned to spend her retirement savings after arriving in the United States from the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago nearly 40 years ago. But with her bright makeup and eye-catching signs, protest has become her calling. In Chicago, she's sleeping in a friend's van so she can keep costs down.

"I am crazy," Seiler said with a laugh. "Nobody who is totally sane would do this."

In addition to opposing Trump, she's also recently protested the Gaza war and abortion restrictions. She takes pains to explain she's not some young radical or a dark-money-funded operative, just an older woman who wants to share her perspective.

Seiler arrived in the U.S. on a tourist visa as a young woman and overstayed. She cleared up her residency via a marriage that later ended. For years, she worked in people's houses, mostly cleaning and organizing. It gave her a lot of scheduling flexibility, and now she's largely put work on hold so she can travel the country protesting.
