Bill Clinton reveals he ‘couldn’t sleep for two years,’ prone to ‘outbursts of rage’ after Hillary lost to Trump: memoir

Former President Bill Clinton revealed he “couldn’t sleep for two years” and was prone to “outbursts of rage” after his wife Hillary Clinton lost to GOP rival Donald Trump in 2016, acknowledging in a memoir released earlier this month that he “wasn’t fit to be around.”

“The whole thing is hard for me to write,” Clinton, wrote in “Citizen: My Life After The White House,” according to the Daily Mail. “I couldn’t sleep for two years after the election. I was so angry, I wasn’t fit to be around.”

'Just Grab a Grip': John Fetterman Castigates Democrats for Losing Their Minds Over Trump Win
Red State ^ | 11/29/2024 | Mike Miller
Posted on 11/29/2024, 11:43:12 PM by SeekAndFind

There he goes again.

"He" being Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. John Fetterman, and "goes again" being the unpredictable senator ripping his own party again. This time, Fetterman took his fellow Democrats to task for "freaking out" over President-elect Trump's decisive win over Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election.

In a new interview with The New York Times, Fetterman said the irrational outrage the Democrats have displayed following Trump’s win has only served to make him stronger and liberals irrelevant. "If you freak out on everything, you lose any kind of relevance."

We’re not even at Thanksgiving, and Democrats just can’t stop losing our minds every fifteen minutes. We really need to pace ourselves, or, you know, for f***'s sake, just grab a grip.

[..]

I’m just saying, buckle up and pack a lunch, because it’s going to be four years of this. And if you have a choice to freak out, you know, on the hour, then that’s your right. But I will not. I’m not that dude, and I’m not that Democrat.

I’m going to pick my fights. If you freak out on everything, you lose any kind of relevance.

In response to a question about why he thinks Democrats continue to "freak out," Fetterman said:

It’s symbiotic. One feeds off the other. The Democrats can’t resist a freakout, and that must be the wind under the wings for Trump. [The] freakout and all the anxiety and all that should have been before Nov. 5.

Does clutching the pearls so hard — does that change anything? Did it work? Did it change the election? Was it productive? And, like, I can’t believe the outrage. That has to be candy for Trump.

Again, spot-on.

Post-election, a majority of the left continue to play into Trump's hand just as they played into it throughout the campaign. You can only call a guy "Hitler," "fascist," "racist," "rapist," et al. so many times before people get tired of hearing it. Fetterman's party did that — and the twin hood ornaments of that clown car were Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

Fetterman Is Definitely Not 'That Dude'

While Fetterman is sometimes at odds with his party and says he's "not that dude" with respect to "freaking out," he's also definitely not "that dude" in another respect. Make no mistake: He's also no former Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin, and he never will be. After years of frequent disagreement with his colleagues, Manchin left the Democrat Party in May and registered as an Independent.

Fetterman told The Times:

Hey, I’m a Democrat. And then there [has been] a lot of, 'Is [he] going to be the next Manchin or Sinema or anything?' No. That’s ridiculous. I’m not leaving my party. I just happen to have reasonable views.

It may be "ridiculous" — in fact, it is — but articles like those below clearly illustrate the cause of consternation on the left and within the Democrat Party when the Pennsylvania senator expresses his "reasonable views

Star Wars icon Mark Hamill eviscerated for 'disgraceful' Trump comparison
Daily Mail ^ | November 29 2024 | GERMANIA RODRIGUEZ POLEO

Mark Hamill has been slammed after he appeared to compare Donald Trump's election to Pearl Harbor.

The Star Wars actor, 73, took to Bluesky to describe election day as 'a Day That Will Live In Infamy.'

It is the phrase Franklin Roosevelt used to describe the horrific Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, which forced the US to enter World War II.

My niece has sever TDS and I wasn’t aware. On the family group text I saw where her husband and son weren’t coming and didn’t really think anything of it. Anyways at my sisters house while we were hanging out before I made a comment about the niece not showing up due to the election. Evidently it was the truth. She had posted some unhinged stuff on social media and my sister called her on the phone and told her that all of her family had voted Trump and that her daughter had interned for the Republican Party and was no dummy. Evidently the phone call from my sister/her aunt who was hosting, didn’t go over well.

He is still a bit f'd if you listen to his Rogan podcast, but at least he sticks to his guns.

Here Are The Democrats Planning to Skip Trump’s Inauguration in Reported ‘First Act of Resistance’
By Kipp Jones

A clear picture is emerging of congressional Democrats who plan to skip President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration next month in an effort Axios described Saturday as their “first act of resistance” against him.

While many notable names reportedly plan to attend the Jan. 20 ceremony in Washington, some House and Senate Democrats have ruled out going to Trump’s big event.

House Democrats who will skip the swearing-in as of Saturday included Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ); Adam Smith (D-WA); Deborah Ross (D-NC); Donald Beyer (D-VA); Steve Cohen (D-TN); Kweisi Mfume (D-MD); Jasmine Crockett (D-TX); Sean Casten , (D-IL); Delia Ramirez (D-IL); Ilhan Omar , (D-MN); Judy Chu (D-CA); Lateefah Simon (D-CA); Veronica Escobar (D-TX).

Cohen and Escobar both cited the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack as their reason for staying home.

“[I was] locked in my office … as the insurrectionists tried to overthrow our government,” Cohen said while Escobar told Axios, “I was trapped in the [House] gallery on Jan. 6.”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries plans to attend while, per Axios, Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) have not yet made a decision.

Ocasio-Cortez told Axios, “I haven’t even thought that far.”

In the Senate, no Democrats told Axios they planned to skip the inauguration as of Saturday, although 10 of them said they had not ruled out staying home.

Notable lawmakers who were unsure about whether to attend included Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

Sens. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Cory Booker (D-NJ) all said they would be present. Axios concluded:

Not every Democrat skipping the ceremony will do so to protest Trump — but a formal boycott is materializing as a first act of resistance against the incoming president. For many Democrats, the scars of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol remain fresh in the mind, marking Trump as a threat to democracy.

Networks need to start replacing folks who, regardless of their political affiliation, have been so consistently wrong.

It's hilarious to see these people like Leslie Stahl complaining that Trump has sowed distrust in the media, when it was them all along.
