NOPE..... unless you are passionately involved with both ,,,, the reality of your own existence and the reality of another existence that is way more interesting  and enjoyable.

Or something like that.

Resident Evil is just amazing, it's like being in a texas chainsaw massacre film. I can only imagine grand theft auto on this ps4 vr in a few years

Since the VR hardware (headset, etc.) will go through vast improvements within the next 24 months, I decided to go the cheap route and purchased an Alcatel Idol 4 and the VR head-set that comes with it for a little more than $200.

I realize that it is nothing like the Oculus or the other $500+ gear but I'll hold off on the better equipment until this VR business gets on its own two feet when we can all decide which VR equipment is the best to buy.

Don't forget that the not too distant future will also offer Augmented Reality and another whose name I have forgottn that offers both VR and AR.

Plus top companies are presently developing VR  accessories  such as hand gloves and other 'wearables' that will add the sense to TOUCH to any  VR app you want to get involved in.

Right now we are just seeing the very tip-top of the VR iceberg with a good number unsinkable ships on the horizon.

The main thing I hate about the PS4 VR is the long cable attached that is pretty heavy and pulls down on the glasses and also gets in the way a lot.  I guess there's so much content being passed through that bluetooth wouldn't be powerful enough to handle it.

The way motion works in VR is key.  People get sick when the POV just moves to quickly.  When it is a smooth transition and moves with your eyes then it's okay.  I think they call it snap to view or something which is annoying.

EL, I have yet to use a PS 4 VR set but there are numerous ways to alleviate that hanging cord problem by hanging it from your ceiling which I thought was pretty impractical.

If interested  .... there are few good YOUTUBE videos that describe the best solution.

Intel is about to release a cordless head-set in which eveything that is needed is built into the head-set itself.

I've been able to handle VR in short bursts, maybe 20-30 minutes.  It does get hot and sweaty under the headset so I have a fan blowing on me at full speed to cool things down.

thats a problem though, the "realer" it gets, the closer we get to someone literally being scared to death

RESIDUE ...You said, " ..... the "realer" it gets, the closer we get to someone literally being scared to death!"

That is a strong possibility. I've seen a couple of videos which showed the physical reaction oF  VR players while walking through a house of horror and it did appear that it definitely gave them a scare sufficient enough to cause an older person a heart attack.

Off track here a bit but .... years ago there was a French movie playing throughout the US called DIABOLIQUE (the original movie of that name) and the big horror scene in that movie did cause a couple of heart attacks the first week it was shown.

Following those incidents they always had an ambulance waiting outside the theater.

And they did advertise that it was scarrie enough to cause heart attacks  ... which was a great form of advertisement because it was held over for a few additional months and sold out at every showing.

But see it today and you wouldn't even piss your knickers.
