Under the law, illegal aliens are criminals. Under the law helping criminals, avoid being arrested is illegal, as in "aiding and abetting" a criminal. Under the law there is no legal way that sanctuary cities can do what they are doing, if the feds want to stop it they can. The feds can arrest anyone aiding and abetting illegal aliens, including elected officials in sanctuary cities.
