I recently read that 50% of pregnancies are accidental!  So about the other half, I'd say a few reasons.  Pass on their genes.  Maybe they have plenty of money and enjoy parenting.  Maybe they are on the wild side and realize they will end up dead from too much partying or something and a kid would ground them so to speak.  Or maybe over the years, the woman is able to just simply talk them into it.

I'm fortunate in the sense that my fiance doesn't want kids for a good 7-8 years. Especially in the Christian community, women want babies and they want them NOW. Some do it to try and repair an already broken marriage, some do it because they think it's what God wants of them, and still others do it just because all of their friends do. Some people are just plain stupid and have kids by accident, bringing a child into a stressful world where he/she will only be working with half a deck of cards. My fiance is 23 graduating with a degree in biotechnology and business and when we makes jokes about kids she says "NO! NOT FOR A LOOONG TIME!"
I think there's something to be said about waiting to have kids AFTER you've lived that fun single/couple life. We've traveled and will continue to travel the world, explore life, etc for the next many years. I can see myself wanting kids and something to pass on when I'm older. So many dudes live the selfish life their entire lives (like some of the posters here) and I feel sorry because they will never experience the joy that a healthy relationship and partner brings.
