Quote
"To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies - all this is indispensably necessary."
- George Orwell's 1984

In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental stress (discomfort) experienced by a person who simultaneously holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values, when performing an action that contradicts those beliefs, ideas, and values; or when confronted with new information that contradicts existing beliefs, ideas, and values.

Unfortunately we truly HAVE reached 1984...scary......we now have "alternative facts" which actually really began when people went crazy over Obama's presidency and started to just make stuff up....unfortunately the American people just isn't smart or savvy enough to keep up with whats really factual and whats not....not to mention you have people who now actually DENY science...I truly fear for our future
