Would you go if you had to fly?

it all depends on who you are with, I dont mind the drive. I think it is quite scenic - Joshua trees and Hoover Dam bridge etc.

I would fly through - Southwest airlines tickets are cheap

no clue lol!

most forums ive been over the years, below your avatar it would have your location etc and geographic locations can yield different responses.

plus I love the SW/West coast is the best spot in the USA in my opinion

1. tons of outdoor things to do - great national parks, gorgi roads, canynons, trails, lakes, the Pacific ocean
2. cost of living isnt so bad (depends)
3. LA, PHX, SD, OC LV, Mexico are close but so different
4. tons of hot chics
5. a blend of progressive and conservative views
6 mexican food is best tasting food ever - chips and salsa anyone? mexican desserts suck ass tho

the cirlce of happiness  ;D

this summer, ill be cali a few times, vegas, maybe a hiking trip to northern AZ/Utah, cant beat it!

Really? You've been kicking around the iron game for as long as I and never went to a pro show?

THAT got my attention.
Sounds ironic, but when I was competing, I rarely went to pro shows.
Unless a pro/national level was within driving distance, I didn't go.

Back then, I couldn't afford the travel, LOL.
BUT seriously, for me and perhaps YOU, bodybuilding was about the level I competed at.
Pros were great, but I didn't think it related to my BB life.
I read all the mags , admired the pro physiques , and that was about it.

When I hung up the trunks, I started being a LOT more active fan of pro BB.
That's dropped off bunch since 2008. Hmmmm?
Of course I competed the Masters Nats and the NABBA Nats about 5-6 times a piece but the biggest show I attended when I lived back in Mass. was the Jr. USA in Hartford Ct.

Howard do you know Jim Ganley...great guy from N.H. I believe?

The Europa sucks

I have a NSCA CSCS, they sponser all the events and local shows here , blast you with supplements (that they sell) but tote themselves as 'experts' because 'we don't sell directly to the public , only to gyms and businesses, so we have nothing but scientific knowledge backing out claims ' /ghey

3strint pros , goin for shit prize money thrown together by those exact companies that don't want to spend too much on advertising ?  Charlotte isn't exactly a Mecca for bodybuilding , uptown sucks if you're a big dude , shitty ass was workout at the epicenter golds gym , $800 for food and a room for the weekend , and you didn't even see any top tier pro
There isn't even a top notch pro coming out of NC in a long time

I've been involved with bodybuilding since Pumping Iron first came out in the 1970's.
But, I stopped attending pro shows 9 years ago in 2008.

I considered going to this years Arnold Classic ( Columbus, OH)  but lacked the motivation.
I recently looked into buying tickets and attending the April 22-23 Europa weekend in Charlotte, NC.
Sad to say, I'm just not inspired to spend the time and $$  to attend.

Maybe it's just me and I've drifted too far away from competitive bodybuilding?

You're one punch-worthy person. Youvtalk ibcessantly about shit you don't like. How about you disassociate yourself altogether. No one needs a resentful, washed-up has-been-that-never-was! It's a good thing you don't attend.

To answer your question I've been going to the NY Pro since '99, when it was called the Night of Champions.

GTFO!

Even when obsessed with becoming a pro I kinda felt being an audience member was one boring trip.

Contests are always WAY too long and become tedious within minutes of their start.

Then some greasy buffoon leaps off the stage, puts a cupped hand to his ear, and the urge to exit the theater becomes extraordinarily intense.

All this fucking guy does here is talk about shit he doesn't do. It's fucking strange. He doesn't wanna compete anymore and questions why he did. He doesn't wanna attend shows, so he doesn't. He didn't wanna have kids, so he didn't have them, and then goes on to comment about other men raising kids and are not walking around in constant leisure and smiling like he is. Maybe he doesn't realize raising kids is fucking tiring sometimes and tired men aren't Mr. Personality talking shit on a forum about what he doesn't like and how his wives left him.

Their prices to businesses suck!

Veslesa hooked me up with good prices... And free coolers.

Actually dated a couple of their reps. Lol
