Crazy, just googled this real quick.

Captain got like 36 years for abandoning the ship and not giving evacuation warnings over the intercom.

Ferry owner was on the run and found in a field badly decomposed. Cause of death unknown.

Investigators suspect a few things. 

1) Suicide being 70+ years old and the drag net closing in on him he figured why not. Plus they found rice wine on him and he didnt drink alcohol, so they believe he could of poisoned himself, but toxicology came back with nothing.

2) He bought a farm or something with a bag of cash, investigators suspect maybe people killed him for his money since he was carrying large amounts of cash while on the run.

3) Died of natural causes, hypothermia etc.

Sad all those kids died, watching that video I dont know why they were staying put.  I know if I were in that situation as a kid, id be fighting tooth and nail to survive and climbing upwards to get the fuck out.

There are apparently people that think that the "'ve" in should've is an "of" instead of a "have".

Probably not native speakers or maybe skipped a class or two back in the day.

I recently read the transcript of the El Faro, which was recovered from the ships data recorder 15,000 feet at the bottom of the ocean wreckage.  That was a tough one to read.  That poor crew knew they were goners, when they were forced to abandoned ship in the midst of a category 5 hurricane with 140mph winds and 40 foot waves.  They would have been tossed around like a frog in a blender.
