This was the weakest Arnold Classic lineup I can think of. Where were all the top competitors?  I'm sure Cedric and Dallas are thrilled with their showings, but this was basically a tier II lineup.  A sign the "sport" is in demise  when the second largest show has this kind of turnout?
I cannot believe that someone with as bad a physique as McCarver got second place. Pretty sad.

The truth is there is nobody to take out phil, as long as he shows up in shape he will win 10 olympias then retire.

Wrong. Phil didn't look as good as everyone is portraying in 16, like many Mr. Os, his first year as Mr. O was his best. He's had different looks and now a slow steady decline. His about wall and hernia is disgusting. His chest is average and he has a narrow frame that distracts from his physique. His body isn't holding up for 10 with Ramy and Cedric on his tail. If the show was judged correctly, Cedric would win. But what I love is that it will turn into Phil v. Cedric and the people will fall behind Cedric. I wouldn't mind hearing what they think of each other as well. If my memory serves me correctly, Cedric called Phil a phoney a long time ago before the people knew.

Nope, apart from Phil all MR Os bettered their first win in size shape and condition.

Yeah but u also said kai was going to beat Phil how many times and that didn't happen

Cedric won't beat Phil ever, it's never happening

The line up Cedric competed in was garbage, he won't beat Dexter or even rhoden
[/quote

this is considered the second best bb in the world these days? cedric would never crack the top 5 or even top 10 in the 90's

Phil is starting to look like he passed his peak, Cedric seems to be finally hitting his, and is far more aesthetic, better shape, and doesn't pose like a constipated monkey on PCP. But to win he has to match or exceed Phil's conditioning and hold his recent size, and maybe add another few lbs of muscle- he has a large wide frame, which can make him look a bit lean at times. At his full potential and shredded, he could win multiple O's in the next few years.

You are wrong this is a matter of personal opinion, example some people think that 98 ronnie was the best, some say 99, others say 2003 etc.

They will never give it to Cedric. He humps stuffed animals in family videos and humped Arnold. They don't want him representing the most prolific organization in the world (IFBB).

I'm not sure politics will play as big a part in it this time for Phil as people think.
Cedric would be a great representative of the sport - ex Army, family man, great with the fans etc
and the IFBB may look to him to take bodybuilding in a new-ish direction.
They know that the majority of fans have gone away from the mass monsters in recent times and more into aesthetic, classic-type physiques.

I think men's physique has been as successful as open bodybuilding in the last few years, especially with the amount of supp companies dropping bodybuilders and signing men's physique comps instead.

Reckon if Cedric turns up in shape, in comparable good condition to Phil, then he could dethrone him.

It took time for him to get his conditioning on point. Yes, I still stand behind my words.

Or maybe just maybe the line up was soooo shitty he actually had a chance to win and he did

So who would he beat for top 5 from the 90's then?

Wheeler, Ronnie, cormier, levrone, ray, priest, dillet, Nasser, etc....

I would love to see it happen, but don't think it will. Cedric has a great personality.

This.

It wasn't the best line up last weekend, so we can agree on that one ;) (not sure why you mention horrible physiques like Dillet & Naser tho..)
However, comparing the current with the nineties generation makes zero sense.

in symetry, Proportion, width he can beat Heath....but he lacked the Level of conditioning which is needed to be a Mr. Olympia.
If Cedric come onstage hard and ripped like Heath he maybe can beat him. But it seems to me that he tested ist year by year, but everytime something went wrong. Now he did his bigger Version an won that Show. But not to Forget that the best BB in this world where not competing in 2017 at the Arnolds.
I really like that McMillan look, but as i said, it seems he never can dry out to that Level which he need to be Mr. Olympia. I´m also not sure if he steps onstage at the 2017 Mr. Olympia ?

The best conditioning of McMillan was last years Arnolds where he placed 2nd (Close to Greene). this year he was not in the same shape, but he was bigger, and still had his good symetry and X-look.

Near the end Nasser and dillet looked like shit but not prime, hell Ruhl looked insane at one point

Hey u were the one that said Cedric would place top 5 in the 90's line up  :D

Are Cedric and Brandon both doing the Arnold Australia? They can bring Bbing back to where it should be. Let's see if Brandon can bring his new found mass in hard and dry.
