Palumbo had a negative angle, and didn't make sense. If one listened to the Shawn's vid, he was critical, but he had said that Dallas is an up and comer, and that he had Dallas ahead of Cedric at the Olympia last year. And said that Dallas could beat Cedric if Cedric is off. But people only focus on the negative.
The real reason why Dallas is mad, is because Shawn was right. People hate the truth, especially insecure people.

I hope McCarver makes a full recovery, but his meltdown shows he has a lot of growing up to do.  Everything Shawn Ray said is accurate.  I understand some people might be turned off by how direct and blunt Shawn can be, but he speaks the truth. 

And if anyone can talk about what it takes to be successful, it's Shawn Ray.  He is unquestionably one of the greatest we've seen.  His physique was flawless.  You can criticize his approach and some of the things he says, but no reasonable person can discount what he brought to the stage during his career. 

If McCarver was smart and more mature, he'd listen to what Shawn has to say.
