The joys of having a dog
« on: April 03, 2017, 11:12:14 AM »
I've never had a dog growing up.  Decided to get a pup about a year ago.  Was a pain in  the ass for the first 6 months but I stuck with the training every day and spending as much time with her as I could.  Now at a year old she is the best thing in my life.  My little loyal pal.  She is essentially my shadow that follows me around everywhere. The adoration and love she shows me is unlike any other.  When I get home it's pure joy.  She runs around me, through my legs and presses up on me as hard as she can and then plops down and closes her eyes and naps because she can relax now that I'm home.

Seriously for those that don't have a dog, it's the best thing you can do in your life.  After one year I cannot imagine how my life can be the same without her in it.

Dogs are cool until you want to spend the day away from home or take a trip or sleep in.

Dogs are awesome

Growing up my dad always had dogs and he got me a jack Russel puppy for Christmas when I was 9 and she was an amazing dog and greatest friend ever.

Our current dog we got when he was 15 months and had learned a lot of bad habits and he's proving hard to break them and settle down but slowly getting there and his beautiful loving nature makes up for it, the kids adore him and he loves them and is great with them. His snoring is the loudest I've ever heard in my fucking life it's like a chainsaw.

Dogs are great, they are an extension of my family. People comment to me that they would love to be my dog.  I guess I take good care of them?? They ride with me everywhere in my truck when I run errands. Hate to think about losing my buddies, makes me extremely sad and depressed.

Dogs are great, only downsides are they die which I take extremely hard and you have to come home. I don't have a dog of my own but if I get one and need to go out of town for a few days luckily I could drop it off at my sisters house.

Glad you are so happy EDB.

So basically you like the attention, adoration and affection. Sounds needy to me. Plus a dog shits everywhere and needs to be walked all the time.
People that love dogs usually don't do well with other humans. You may be the exception. I hate people that don't clean up their dog shit which is pretty much every dog owner.

I guess you are right.
But that takes a lot of time and dedication.
Most people dont have that.

Again. Training is key. I spent a lot of time training my dog. A lot.  It's worth it long term but definitely exausting at the time.

The problem is 99% of people don't train their dogs. Nor do they care. People want to be loved. So they get a dog.

We owned a a dog in the past but we did not have enough time for it so he began to eat "de
deurposten". Thats when we had to find a other owner.

If you do get a dog, please adopt/don't shop.

The best dogs I've ever had have either been strays or adopted from SPCA.
