Dick Hoyt...... an actual athlete and a great dad.

And Rick is both smarter that Genova and healthier than most oil soaked pro bodybuilders.

Kid would've been instant toast in Sparta.

Instead, our weak society allows genetic mutants to keep sucking air and eating Pop Tarts, drooling everywhere. Stinking up the room.

Imagine going for a PR in one of those races only to have Wheels the Retard run you down.

Bet that father has a "Refugees Welcome" sign on his lawn.

The father looks a bit like Hitler.

That's what made it inspirational, not the lazy son

Sorry but I don't find this inspiration in the least.

If anything I think it sad.

First for having a crippled son.

Second for wasting your life on him.

(i realize not everyone will agree with the term "wasting," but that's honestly what I see it as).

I don't want a retard as my kid.

Every time I am tired working long shifts, 6 days a week, and want to chill I think of the sacrifices this guy made for his kid and it keeps me going with my own family. He has 2 normal kids, and his wife left him. His son there would have been normal but the cord wrapped around his neck at birth ( I think). He dedicated his life racing with his handicapped kid because the kid told him the only time he felt normal was during a race. The love this guy has for his kid...

Kennedy took care of his kid after the accident. I can only imagine the dumb comments you made behind his back.

Bob was very wrong to allow Brandon to continue to live, what with his vegetable state and the mountains of machines required to keep him as such. Without Mr. Kennedy's overwhelming grief and obvious feelings of guilt, I imagine he'd deduce as much, too.

Almost everyone agrees who was "close" to the situation. Even Kennedy's best friend who has known him since the two were young boys.

I understand the heartache, but Bob, for whom I will always have fond feelings, was very, very wrong.

The kid, whom I remember as a lively little boy, was reduced to a heap of useless meat, likely suffering for years before his merciful end.

P.S. Bob knew how I felt.
