Lee you know that you will get even more fucked over if u ever compete in an IFBB show again, so u better hope that competing in PDI pays off And most of these new bbing orgs fail within the 1st year! IMO not a smart business move on your part.

It's the chicken and the egg dillema - if everyone waits around for other athletes to join and to see if things will work out, then PDI will fail for lack of participants. But if they can line up enough guys and sponsors to break critical mass, then the organization has a shot at surviving and eventually thriving.  Early joiners will have first pick at the new contests and new sponsers etc. so there IS motivation not to wait around forever.

The IFBB will declare all out war if PDI looks like it might succeed. No way in hell will they share the playing field.

How is that possible, if you don't finish first or second at a pro show (which Lee rarely does, although arguably should) you leave with like a thousand bucks or nothing at all.

Why the fuck should he stay around, even if the PDI has 3 shows and he wins all three then the organization folds, he still made more than he would at 50 IFBB shows.

Yes but Hockey is a very popular, widely accepted sport. Hockey players look like normal people. Many millions of kids all over the world grow up wanting to be hockey players. Many companies like to be associated with hockey players becuase its very lucrative for them to do so.

None of those things apply to the freakish sport of modern pro bodybuilding with its heavy steroid association and GH gutted atheletes.

Pro bodybuilding will never be mainstream, and never be nearly as lucrative as other mainstream sports.  Ronnie Coleman is seen as a freakish oddity by 99.9 percent of the population.  The fact that he even  makes as much money as he does surprises me.

Sure having "muscles" ala Brad Pitt in Troy is one thing, having a giant gut and 300 pounds of veiny, striated muscle on a 5'10 body makes regualr people want to puke.

yea.. I'd say the world's top hockey player look normal compared to mr. SilverSuit here...  Not saying that I personally wouldnt want to look like Coleman, just that how many kids do you think go to bed at night dreaming of being able to brag about shredded glutes and a Sandow vs. the Stanely Cup?

As for the steroid thing, doesn't matter who else takes them - ask any average person to identify what sport they think of when you mention steroid abuse and BB will almost always be their first pick. Weightlifters and Baseball players probably a close second.

Why not i have been in the IFBB for 13 years so why not try a new organization.Comnpetitio n is good.
Wayne knows what he is doing i have all the faith in the world he will do a good job with the PDI.

Now the IFBB just needs to let the athletes be athletes and compete where they want to make money while they can and not control what they do or say like usual.

So i am willing to give it a try i believe it will be a good thing.

I believe so. I personally think it's just a matter of time before the IFBB sends out a memo stating that anyone pro in the IFBB will be banned if they compete in PDI.

I mean Lee has only won a little less than a hand full of times and got that second/third places for a bit, but now he legitamately has a chance of being a consistent winner, and by winner i mean person who goes home with the most money.

Maybe I'm missing something. Isn't the total prize money in each of the PDI shows like $30k? Isn't that like the Ironman's purse? So how is he going to get rich in one $30k show, but not the other? So you're saying he's guaranteed to win all three PDI shows, but he never took home any money from the IFBB shows he's competed in until now? WTF?

Lee just legitimized the PDI. Watch the haters come out of the woodwork. He has the biggest fanbase in the sport behind Ronnie and Jay and the IFBB was to busy fixing the Olympia every year that when Ronald is done within the next couple of years, the 2nd biggest draw in bodybuilding will be in the PDi.

Actualy it is worthy to note that the IFBB has not made any comment on the standing of the new federation PDI, so bearing that in mind under current IFBB PRO RULES , you can not alighn yourself with any competting federation , this means you can not even be in attendance at a NABBA show if you wished (for that i am gulity), so if the PDI does become sucessfull it will be intresting to se if the IFBB re evaluates these rules to accomidate the loss of top draw cards the likes of Mr Priest and the others that will be there , but i dont think they are looking at this yet , it would by my guess that the IFBB is sitting and waiting to see how this all pans out , this being a move usally attributed to being conseated, but when they realise that this all may just work , you can be assured they will try to muscle in on the compettion some how, that is called bussiness !!

what PDI has to do is mix it up...A different winner at every show...If a guy like Preist doesn't come in shape and some much smaller guy does, let him win.....If that happens, you could see many IFBB guy who wouldn't even get looked at make the move over...The PDI needs a few big names but more importantly needs numbers...Chris Cormier should really think about moving on over....Talk about a guy who has been f cked over resently...Get Palumbo over and all his fan base....Kovcas other just because people would want to see what he would look like and Ruhl should think about it...he is going nowhere in the Ifbb...hell while we are at it bring Nassar over...If they can get enough people over they should really have 2 weight classes...
