Why would someone power-roid or permabulk to never compete?

We all know of those power-trucker types. What would drive them to do this? Why would someone want to be a blob of water, fat, and muscle, while looking like shit, only to never diet down?

I've noticed that too. Some even publicize their eating binges, like apologizing on social media for gross overeating slips.
