Democrats begin to wonder: When do we win?
« on: April 19, 2017, 06:41:38 AM »
For all the roiling anger and energy at the grassroots, the party still fell short in Georgia and Kansas. And Democratic prospects in upcoming elections aren't promising.

As it became clear late Tuesday evening that Jon Ossoff would fall just short of the 50-percent mark in the first round of voting in a suburban Atlanta special election, Democrats back in Washington started leafing through their calendars and asking: When does the winning start?

They have to settle for another shot in two months. This time, though, district voters will face a binary choice between Ossoff and a Republican opponent instead of an 18-candidate primary, which allowed Ossoff — one of the best-funded House candidates ever, raising over $8.3 million thanks to hundreds of thousands of small donations from Democrats around the country — to rise far above a splintered field.

If you listen to the whole thing instead of a selected snippet, you would clearly see that he's joking about another subject.... ::)

A Republican won that very conservative district  with a 23 point lead just 5 months ago

Congratulations are your huge victory of not being able to secure the seat and heading to a run off election

so the same voters that couldn't get him elected are going to suddenly show up in June and blow him out of the water?

Can you tell me the last time this district put a Democrat in office

This should have been a cake walk for any Republican but again, congratulations on your victory/run off

They are too focused on dumb shit like a steak being over cooked at one of Trump's restaurants rather than taking an introspective look at their political party which is in complete disarray.

Well, after all, it's difficult to be the cook, repair the refrigerator, serve the food AND run the country.

How's that working out for them?

plenty of stuff to laugh at like the Trump supporter who had her husband deported or Trump supporters who might have their land seized to build "the wall"

There are plenty of people in small dying towns who are started to figure out that Trump ain't gonna do shit for them

We can all enjoy laughing at those people too

Will also be fun to laugh when Trump can't get tax reform passed

Still lots of laughs to come

I can see them very easily gaining full power back again. All depends on whether Republicans will continue to be spineless, lie, backtrack, etc. I can see a lot of people getting disheartened. McConnell talking about going against conservatives in upcoming elections for more "electable" candidates. Sounds like he wants more repubocrats.
