How to get the "grainy" look-naturally
« on: April 24, 2017, 06:51:38 PM »
I've been experimenting with various training, diet and supplement protocols in an attempt to duplicate Doz's famous "grainy" look, only as a natural. No PEDS, but anything sold at Vitamin Shoppe is fair game. Anyway, I think I'm there. I'll know in 8 weeks. If anyone wants to have a serious dialogue about this, feel free to PM.

lets talk about it in this thread so we can share ideas - what has worked and hasnt worked

what is your natural build? (ecto, meso, endo)

me, i am a lean meso, but for me to get lean

1. i need to totally deplete my cals
2. cut carbs to keto style diet
3 tons of veggies/water
4. cardio

nothin special (hot yoga helps me a ton)

what are you doing?

I definitely think it's genetic, has nothing to do with leaness or bodyfat that's for sure, many athletes / bodybuilders get super lean, but rarely see the grainy type look. Same goes for vascularity, some get very lean without much veins (Jay Cutler), some get crazy vascular (Frank McGrath).
And getting this type of look naturally, good luck.

U know your talk mr :D. Agree 100%. Light is everything when your in shape...light light light...and then some black white, and then some increased contrast...and pictures before pumped up, as soon u start to pump up u loose definition....we want dry muscle cells, not filled with blood and water...

Will never happen.

Only people who are gonna pm you are guys as clueless as you and it'll be a circle-jerk of natural telling beach other how great they look.

Grainy look is a combination of ..
Large muscle fibers
A lot of muscle fibers
Very low body fat
Very low water retention

Heavy androgenic anabolics that don't aromatics.
Gh to grow new fibers (so they can then be enlarged by the anabolics)
Fat burners that spare muscle tissue (clen)
Estrogen drugs such as aromasin to stop anabolics from converting to estrogen as well as nolvadex to block estrogen receptors for any leftover estrogen hanging around
Mild diuretic such as aldactone and dyazide.

Nobody, not even Dorian walked around as dry as thenpic u posted. Not to mention the shadows helped. They're not as impressive in color.

Bottom line... Doing it natural is an waste of time. Even if younget that dry, you'll only weigh 162lbs if you're above average height.

Dorian has said in the past that he either dated/knew of(can't remember exactly)  a dermatologist who said he quite literally had thinner than normal skin.

There's your answer...

Hard, heavy training, muscle maturity and thin skin. Of course low bodyfat and low water retention. So some factors are genetic but not all.

Lol... If you say so scarecrow.

I was wondering how much it costs to get the necks of your dress shirts tailored to 14"?

I wouldnt expect a real answer to the OPs question from you anyways.. Being somebody who's diet advice is Bulimia, & bulimia will only get you to 7% right? Notbthe 5% needed to look like Dorian.

You're like a broken record. Is autism hereditary? Donboth you and your son have it? Or is it just aspergers? Maybe it's the fetal alcohol syndrome evident in your eyes and facial features that makes your worse. Younknow where the pictures are as does everyone else

Why would you want to be "grainy" when not on drugs and not competing ?
Most likely you will end up looking like a concentration camp survivor. Just not worth it.

Being natty you would look to be more "stringy" rather than grainy.................. .no gear would make this happen as you would have to do a ton of hard dieting and lots of cardio.

My advice, get to 10% as a natty unless competing in the near future.

10% means visible abs to me all the time.

Well, having a grainy look is not natural so I think trying to get grainy naturally is an oxymoron. Besides, only other male bodybuilders think this look is attractive.

Saying grainy looking and natural in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

It's very easy ::).  Just look at the top 15 Olympia competitors who are on shitloads of drugs and none have this grainy look. It is 100% genetics.
