I believe you.  My employer provided health care has gone up dramatically the last few years.  My premiums go up, and coverage goes down every year.   >:(

350+ per month here and have a 3000$ deductible.  I paid less, had a low deductible and better insurance before Obamacare.

Wow.  People think we have free health care here in Canada, but taxes are higher in Canada, so it's not really free.  However, you can be unemployed, have no income and not have paid taxes in years, and if you get in a car accident and end up in the hospital with a broken arm or whatever, you're still covered for the most part.  So yeah, even unemployed bums are taken care of if they go the hospital or visit the doctor.  When I had my motorcycle accident 16 years ago and broke both my legs and dislocated my shoulder, I was in the hospital for a month, and then in a rehab facility after that for an additional 6 weeks.  Thankfully I didn't have to pay a dime.  Although my employer health plan covered the hundreds of Percocet pills I needed for months afterwards until my bones fused.

So you think unemployed bums here in the US of A don't get medical treatment if they are in a car accident or in need?  I've know several "bums" as you call them receive great medical service. One was mailed his bill of $36,000 and he ripped it up and laughed.

Bums and unemployed have always been provided medical care in the USA.  If anyone walks into an ER, they get treatment, whether they have insurance or not.  It's always been that way.   ???

It's too bad Trump promised to repeal and replace.  He should have let this piece of shit Obamacare die a slow and agonizing death.  People would have been out in the streets demanding the Democrat's heads.

Obamacare was a giant expensive clusterfuck that got more expensive every year with less options and shittier coverage.  It was collapsing in on itself and everyone hated it.

Now if the GOP plan doesn't miraculously turn shit into gold the press is going to rewrite history and pretend everything is Trump's fault.

Very true.  I just hope my cost goes down.  I am paying 1,200 for myself and 2 kids for OC with a 6900 deductible.

Family of 4…

Used to pay approximately $1000.00/month with a $1500.00 deductible and a $25.00 copay..

Since Obamacare, I pay approximately $1300.00/month with a $6300.00 deductible and a $90 copay.  Essentially, this is a catastrophic insurance policy.

I was initially dropped by my insurance despite Obama's promise that I could keep my insurance and Dr.  BTW, as you can clearly see, I did not save $2,500/year.

I cringe whenever i see how much American citizens pay for their insurance.
Where I live its pretty much free but our taxes are insane.
Today i was in the train and a fat lady started eating a whole chocolate cake by herself, mind you not just a piece.. the WHOLE fucking thing. I was thinking when this nutcase gets diabetus my taxes is going to pay for her shit. Thats the big downside you have to pay for other people mistakes and perpetuating idiocracy.
However you never know some shit can happen to you and you thank god you live in a nanny state.

In the Australian system that Trump likes so much is a basic single payer system within which people can get supplemental policies for deluxe coverage.

The American Health Care Act (HR 1628) passed by the House today reduces taxes on the American people by over $1 trillion. The bill abolishes the following taxes imposed by Obama and the Democrat party in 2010 as part of Obamacare:

-Abolishes the Obamacare Individual Mandate Tax which hits 8 million Americans each year.

-Abolishes the Obamacare Employer Mandate Tax. Together with repeal of the Individual Mandate Tax repeal this is a $270 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s Medicine Cabinet Tax which hits 20 million Americans with Health Savings Accounts and 30 million Americans with Flexible Spending Accounts. This is a $6 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s Flexible Spending Account tax on 30 million Americans. This is a $20 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s Chronic Care Tax on 10 million Americans with high out of pocket medical expenses. This is a $126 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s HSA withdrawal tax. This is a $100 million tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s 10% excise tax on small businesses with indoor tanning services. This is a $600 million tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare health insurance tax. This is a $145 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare 3.8% surtax on investment income. This is a $172 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare medical device tax. This is a $20 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare tax on prescription medicine. This is a $28 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes the Obamacare tax on retiree prescription drug coverage. This is a $2 billion tax cut.

As a presidential candidate in 2008, Barack Obama had promised repeatedly that he would not raise any tax on any American earning less than $250,000 per year. He broke the promise when he signed Obamacare. With the passage of the House GOP bill, tens of millions of middle income Americans will get tax relief from Obamacare's long list of tax hikes.

My cynical side tells me this has less to do with helping Americans and more to do with getting the insurance companies out of a bad situation.  Obamacare was failing and they knew it would be politically impossible with Trump in office to get their yearly taxpayer funded bailout to cover the losses.  They needed a way out and the Republicans gave it to them.  I'm glad that the individual mandate will go but I think any net benefit to the little guy is an afterthought to protecting the big political donor insurance companies.
