Sex and gender are the same thing.
I agree that they are tied together. Studies of primates have proven that there is a natural draw to certain behavior, colors and items depending on the sex of the animal and it has nothing to do with social influence/construct of what is deemed masculine and feminine.
Boys are naturally connected to toy cars, the color blue and becoming engineers later in life as girls are naturally connected to barbies, the color pink and becoming nurses. TheRe is obviously some crossover here but generally speaking this is how life naturally works to keep things moving forward.
in Sweden, where we can all agree that they don't push a patriarchal society and men and women are free to do as they wish in academics, etc...this is how things unfold. Women don't run out to become firefighters and rocket scientists, they go into health care or geriatric nursing. Men go into historically male dominated roles. it is not what those that push gender equality expected.would happen and what is pushed in North America with girl power and you could do whatever men can propaganda but when left to ones own free choice men and women go back to what are typically male and female roles.
Suggesting gender and sex are different is something humans do to normalize behavior that isn't normal. It's PC, do gooder, virtue signaling that maybe has its heart in the right place but it is not correct.
