What would your ideal life be like if you could choose freely?

For me:

net worth: $ 1 billion

work: 20 hours per week

relationship: stable relationship

leisure: travelling all over the world

Net worth - not sure of actual amount but enough to no actually have to ever work again.

Work - either run a gym but not actually care about profit, just a good gym with a few happy well looked after staff and great training atmosphere and be happy as long as breaking even or a small building firm with a few mates picking only the good jobs . Both options rely on having the financial security of the net worth question.

Relationship - mail order bride to cook and clean house and provide sex and additionally the occasional prostitute or whore met in local pub

Leisure - drunk most weekends

what you really want is a life free from external obligations and debts, nothing owed, no roots, free to go wherever you want as you please, and just have enough money not to ever have to think about it again.

....basically you can get that on much, much less $$.

and then your "ideal life" would be actually attainable!

there was a Werner Herzog documentary where one of the people just had all his belongings in a large backpack, and he just travelled all over the world and took the odd job. Not a bad life.

A paltry $1 million in cash and I would be able to stop working completely and live the rest of my life very comfortably.  Most guys here would probably need more because you are younger.

Dating and relationships are a drain on your wealth.  Rent a whore if you're horny... at least you know she is a sure thing.   

The most important thing is health.

I know someone who did this... it's not as simple as it sounds.  You must learn the language and the customs.  It's not legal for a foreigner to own property in the majority of these countries.

I have seen some YouTube videos about living in e.g. Thailand. 250k sounds a little low.

I never understood the fascination for that place. Sure, the weather is good, it's cheap and there's plenty of nature, but it's also a corrupt & criminal place full of beggars & trannies.

I feel the same way. There are so much other countries to live cheaply in the sun.
Thailand seems like a bit of sinfull mess.It is also not as cheap as ond might expect.  If you want to live like some sort of bum/drifter it is cheap, wanna live in a nice house and do stuff, you wil need money/steady income.

In that order

To ensure the above are addressed I need to make an abundance of money, which I do and love how I do it.

Well, most of those countries aren't much better, apart from the trannies. Often, the 'best' countries to live are also the more expensive. I would rather live in a stable place with a high living standard, such as Zwitserland or simply travel between the better places.

Check out Chiang Mai. It is a large expat community in the north of Thailand. To me, it looks a lot more appealing that some of the other cities in Thailand.

This place looks great & peaceful. One thing is for sure, I would never visit large places such as Bangkok or Pattaya, too much people over there.
