2017 Olympia - Amateur Vegas - Info - Thursday 09-14-17

NOTE: I’m not sure if this has been mentioned on this Board yet but this year’s Olympia event in Las Vegas (Sep 14 - 16, 2017) will include an AMATEUR OLYMPIA CONTEST for NPC Bikini, Open Bodybuilding,  Classic Bodybuilding , and Men’s Physique contenders.

Check in is on Wednesday, Sept 13, 2017.

Two (2) IFBB Pro Cards will be awarded for each overall division for a total of ten (10) Pro Cards.

The IFBB Pro Classic event should prove to be interesting as Danny Hester will return to compete against IFBB Bodybuilding Pro, Flex Wheeler  and other recent notables within the world of Classic Physique comps.

I’ll be making an attempt to post photos of the principal Classic contenders as the majority of them are relatively new and mostly unknown.

I'll also be attempting to predict the outcome among the top three or four contenders.

If the photos which I’ll do my best to add shortly are incorrect, please feel free to correct them .

OLKE, Sorry, I think you may have  asked  me that earlier but I've been too damn busy to reply.

YES I have been to Texas a few times.

Once on a long drive through the Texas Panhandle from New York to Quantico to LA, and then up to Northern California while on leave delivering an ice cream truck that someone had won on The Price is Right TV Show. I wasn't too impressed during that part of the trip.

If you're a retired Texas Ranger I may have shaken your hand when we were their guests at some exclusive function in the vicinity of LAKE LBJ which a phenomenal golf course which they were proud to proclaim as the hilly part of Texas.

One thing I can say about Texas is, 'It's huge with damn nice people"!

That's about the extent of my Texas visits. Why did you ask?

STUNT, I am not from texas but form europe I like reading your posts and stories so I just asked you a random question  I am former hack benchers (rip)/ victor venice beach (rip). I saw a lot about texas in a tv show some time ago and I would love to visit the place. Lots of big big big wide stretches of nature and so much space! One day I will take the family to the USA and visit as much states as possible.

I live in Dallas Texas and train occasionally at destination Dallas

Real estate is good here as well as jobs and it's developing at a fast rate, many people moving down here

Look up frisco and Plano Texas, suburbs of Dallas, always ranked one of the best places to live in the nation, also good place to raise kids

I have no idea who will be entering this amateur event but I have a good feeling that both Bumstead and Von Moger will be doing well in whatever Orly event they will be entering.

And it will be interesting to see how Danny Hester does this year in an attempt to retain his title ... whatever that title was or still is!

Maybe Ron can fill us in on the amateur entries and it would also be interesting to find out how much $$$ is being awarded this year to each of the event winning and placing pros.

Jeff and Cory won it at the Caesars Palace LV contest (AAU or NPC???) but I have no idea what happened since then.

Now let's not try to be too damn funny and suggest a .... Tranny Contest ..... although it now appears that there could be lots of entrants.

Bro, you do realize that Danny Hester won last year. He is one if not the smallest guy on stage. I think they will stick to quality not quantity in this class.

I stopped by the Orleans for my weekly free buffet and then proceeded to the ticket office to inquire about the price of tickets for the Jr. Olympia which will be held on next Thursday ....

Only to find that the Orleans Buffet is being remodeled and has been closed during the process which I think will carry through the Olympia weekend.

But as a substitute they have opened a temporary and very small buffet over thar by the south-west entrance to the casino.... but I passed it by this time out and went elsewhere as a good number of the local casinos offer free buffet meals almost constantly.

Asked the ticket seller guy about the Jr. Olympia ticket sales and he said that they were selling well with a $77 price on the high end..... the low end I have forgotten because I was too damn hungry to give him the time to look it up before I ran off in search of another compt meal deal here in town.

The Orealns showroom is  a relatively small room so I'm sure that it will sell out by the time the contenders arrive.

Anyone other than RON and possibly WIGGS planning to be there?
