Seems like month by month and year by year competitive bodybuilding has been going to shit. Contest are getting worse and worse. We just had the New York Pro and the way it was set up it looked like an NPC National qualifier from the 1990s in a high school auditorium or something. Not to mention the lineup was pretty fucking week. I remember back in the day the Night of Champions was my favorite show because you had all kinds of freaks show up to do that particular show and it always seem like the hardcore dudes would be there and get some camera time period not this year. I haven't particularly fondled contest closely for the past few years but things seem way too diluted now.
Seems like the only interesting contests are those between the new classes like classic bodybuilding or men's physique or some shit or the 212 classes.. Only bwcause its "new", but I suspect within a couple of years or so it will die out a little bit as well. It seems bodybuilding these days is less about contest placings or rankings or whatever and more about social media type shit getting followers and advertising money. Sorta like what Rich Piana is doing in Boston Lloyd and them. Look at loafers he got more attention from his video blogs and whatnot leading up to the Mr Olympia that he did from the actual contest and the same will probably be true for a flex wheeler he'll get way more attention for his progress leading up to the show on social media then he will from the show itself which she will probably bomb.
