This house is in a post-war development in Houston called "Oak Forest"...

1000 square feet, three bedrooms, one bathroom...on huge lots.   They were heated with unvented gas space heaters...In the summer they were ventilated with a "whole house ventilator."  In the early 60's people started taking the big fan out and installing a large window air conditioner.  They also built an even more basic model that had no garage, just a carport.
Would this count as a tiny house?

These are almost certainly considered tear downs for the absolutely huge lots these houses are on, but this one is $270,000...

Upon reflection and viewing the photos, the lot isn't as big as I thought,  but some of this genre were quite large.

Looks like the houses built in prison by inmates making $.25/hr and "sold" to Indian reservations for Indian anti live in. Not long before the windows(plywood) match the floors (plywood).

The houses up top look like hunting/trapping cabins. Cool if they're in the Black Hills or Montana, or Alaska and its just you and some heavy cal rifles and a full size double-stack 1911 in 10mm & a DP-12.
