I've noticed that, since last week, the crowd isn't as loud when Funaki 2.0 hits the ring. WWE must be editing the sound, because normally they go NUTS when he hits the ring. Now there's this explosion during his entrance.

What gives?

They are known to mute audience noises. Especially when the crowd loudly boos a face.

But in this case, the fans are singing Nakamura's song with him.

Funaki 2.0 has been touted as the greatest thing in wrestling since cable TV.

It's to the point where the envious Ring of Honor posted a 2014 match between Kevin Owens (then Kevin Steen) and Shinsuke Nakamura on Tuesday night, right before Smackdown (where Owens and Nakamura were the main event).

He's getting a major pop and WWE mutes the crowd?

They also add noise / applause to try and push over stars they want the crowd to like. Go to a live event when Cena or Reigns is wrestling and you'll see what I mean.  ;)
