The most growth occurs when a muscle is put in a pre stretched position. This is where the process of Sarcomerogenesis occurs, which is the formation of new sarcomeres within a muscle ...which can lead to increased growth. Deficit deadlifts , dumbell benches, heavy overhead extensions etc. I'm not a fan of short range movements for growth.
If you don't believe me start doing snatch grip deadlifts off a 4 inch platform for two weeks, you will probably gain weight. Things like hammer strength benches are shit because they don't allow a muscle to have enough TUT throughout the movement. Not saying they can't cause some growth but start thinking of lifting from a more scientific perspective and you can eliminate the uselsss sxcercises that cut into recovery. Too many guys fuck themselves out of growth with too much volume.
