Three Employees Resign from CNN Amid Very Fake News Scandal

Three CNN employees have resigned amid the network’s very fake news scandal in which it was forced to retract a hit piece on President Donald Trump and his associates.
“CNN said Monday that three journalists, including the executive editor in charge of a new investigative unit, have resigned after the publication of a Russia-related article that was retracted,” CNN’s Brian Stelter reported late Monday. “Thomas Frank, who wrote the story in question; Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the unit; and Lex Haris, who oversaw the unit, have all left CNN.”

Stelter quoted an anonymous CNN spokesperson—the network refused to comment to him on Sunday night over the scandal—as saying the network accepted their resignations. As Stelter acknowledged — not in this piece, but in his Sunday evening “Reliable Sources” newsletter — it was a Breitbart News investigation that forced CNN’s retraction and now the resignations of three top network officials.

“In the aftermath of the retraction of a story published on CNN.com, CNN has accepted the resignations of the employees involved in the story’s publication,” the CNN spokesperson said. Stelter continued:

An internal investigation by CNN management found that some standard editorial processes were not followed when the article was published, people briefed on the results of the investigation said. The story, which reported that Congress was investigating a ‘Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials,’ cited a single anonymous source. These types of stories are typically reviewed by several departments within CNN — including fact-checkers, journalism standards experts and lawyers — before publication. This breakdown in editorial workflow disturbed the CNN executives who learned about it. In a staff meeting Monday afternoon, investigative unit members were told that the retraction did not mean the facts of the story were necessarily wrong. Rather, it meant that ‘the story wasn’t solid enough to publish as-is,’ one of the people briefed on the investigation said. The reporting about the Russian investment fund and Trump officials was not relayed on CNN’s television channels, but it was published on the web and shared on social media. On Friday, one of the people named in the story, Trump ally Anthony Scaramucci, disputed Frank’s reporting and said, ‘I did nothing wrong.’ Friday night, once it was determined that editorial processes were not followed, CNN deleted the story from CNN.com. Soon thereafter, the story was officially retracted and replaced with an editor’s note.

CNN is still not commenting via official on-record statements from its public relations department and continues refusing to provide network President Jeff Zucker for interviews. There are many questions the network is still not answering about what is now the most serious scandal in its history.

Haris, the head of the CNN investigative unit who has resigned, is the only CNN official who resigned who gave a statement for the story. Stelter wrote that he “was named the executive editor of CNN Investigates in January” and was previously the executive editor of CNNMoney.

“On Friday, CNN retracted a story published by my team. As Executive Editor of that team, I have resigned,” Haris said. ”I’ve been with CNN since 2001, and am sure about one thing: This is a news organization that prizes accuracy and fairness above all else. I am leaving, but will carry those principles wherever I go.”

Neither Lichtblau nor Frank are quoted in the story. But Stelter describes their previous, seemingly impeccable credentials:

Frank worked for USA Today and Newsday for three decades, pursuing investigations and covering the Iraq war as an embedded reporter, before coming to work at CNN. He was part of an ambitious new investigative unit that was created last winter, bringing together existing teams from within the company and new hires like Lichtblau. A veteran of The New York Times who won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 2006, Lichtblau joined CNN just three months ago.

This is a developing story. More information is forthcoming.

College Professor Fired After ‘Separatist’ Arguments Made During Tucker Carlson Interview

“Boo-hoo-hoo,” Lisa Durden, an adjunct professor at Essex County College in Newark, said in the June 6 appearance on Carlson’s Fox News program. “You white people are angry because you couldn’t use your ‘white privilege’ card to get invited to the Black Lives Matter’s all-black Memorial Day celebration.”

Carlson said Durden’s position was “so hostile and separatist and crazy.”

“It’s such a basic violation of what I thought we all agreed on, which is you don’t attack people for things they can’t control, namely their race,” Carlson admonished.

Anthony E. Munroe, the recently appointed President of Essex County College, announced on Friday that Durden, who was an adjunct professor, would not be invited back to teach at the college in the fall.

“In consideration of the college’s mission, and the impact that this matter has had on the college’s fulfillment of its mission, we cannot maintain an employment relationship with the adjunct,” he said.

Munroe claimed that he was flooded with feedback from students, faculty, and prospective students who felt that Durden’s remarks would negatively impact the Essex County College community and the college was “immediately inundated with feedback from students, faculty and prospective students and their families expressing frustration, concern and even fear that the views expressed by a College employee (with influence over students) would negatively impact their experience on the campus.”

“I was publicly lynched,” Durden claimed in an interview with The Washington Post following news she had been let go. “They didn’t let me finish the class and they disrupted the learning process.”

Munroe added that the college “supports and affirms the right of free speech and independent views and expressions of those views for our faculty and staff.” But he added that the college will not permit “any conduct that implies that all students are not welcome to participate in, or benefit from, our programs or activities on the basis of their race, color, orientation or national origin.

Kathy Dettwyler Fired: Prof Said Otto Warmbier Got What He Deserved

Adjunct University of Delaware anthropology professor Kathy Dettwyler will not be rehired at the school in the fall after making comments that Otto Warmbier got what he deserved from North Korea.

Dettwyler was subjected to a huge backlash when she posted the comment on her personal Facebook page, “Is it wrong of me to think that Otto Warmbier got exactly what he deserved?” The post has since been made private or removed.

In a Sunday statement, UD said Dettwyler "will not be rehired to teach at the University in the future," The News Journal reported, adding that Dettwyler wasn’t a faculty member when she made the controversial comments.

"The comments of Katherine Dettwyler do not reflect the values or position of the University of Delaware," the University stated last week as the news of her post broke, The News Journal reported. "We condemn any and all messages that endorse hatred and convey insensitivity toward a tragic event such as the one that Otto Warmbier and his family suffered."

Warbier was a college student when he was arrested for trying to steal a propaganda poster while traveling in North Korea in 2016, according to The Washington Post. He was sentenced to 15 years hard labor but was released back to the United States when he became ill and the North Korean government feared he might die in their custody.

Twitter users continued to be outraged about the Dettwyler's comments and turned them back on her, saying she got what she deserved with the firing.

Outstanding.  Better late than never for some of those folks to demand accountability.

  • It’s All Bullshit
The liberals lying and lack of journalistic integrity were bound to catch up with them. Trump totally exposed all of them for what they were. He's still winning.

She should not have been fired and she'll have a good cause to appeal and file a civil suit.

She doesn't have a snow balls chance in hell, she made racist comments on national tv. Exclusion of a group of people based on race, is racist. Anyone who supports that should not be teaching our kids.

She needs to go some place where they can help her with her problems, not make it worse.

The best thing is for her and her demented liberal insane to stay on TV to expose themselves.

The Incompetence Party. The Democrats’ biggest problem isn’t Bernie Sanders. It’s that many voters doubt the party’s ability to govern anymore.
Wall Street Journal ^ | February 12, 2020 | Daniel Henninger
Posted on 2/13/2020, 9:38:55

Now that Bernie Sanders—once an obscure socialist senator from Vermont—is officially the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, it is time to confront what that means.

It does not mean the U.S. is flirting with socialism. That’s not going to happen. The meaning of Bernie’s ascent is that the Democratic Party, older even than he is, has simply run out of gas.

The Democrats resemble Europe’s aging political parties—Britain’s Labour, France’s Socialists, Germany’s Social Democrats and Christian Democrats. All have simply deflated with voters.

Signs of public fatigue with the Democrats could be seen in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Besides incompetence, the big story out of Iowa was low turnout. In New Hampshire the story was voter indecision. Once past Bernie’s 25% cement-block base, many voters were flipping a coin in the voting booth to pick from the other candidates.

What does it mean that Elizabeth Warren, by now a household name, got dropped to fourth place? Joe Biden’s humiliating fifth is a personal disaster, but what does that say about the party itself?

Circling overhead is Mike Bloomberg, supposedly the party’s savior. The truth is Barack Obama was the party’s final savior, and a second coming isn’t likely. Recall the talk after the 2016 election about how the Democrats had “no bench.” They just rolled benchless into 2020.

The Democrats’ floundering to find a candidate is deeper than the split between moderates and the left. It looks to me like the accumulated costs of its long history as the self-declared party of government are finally coming due.

The party’s problem is that it doesn’t look competent anymore. The Iowa caucus debacle came on top of the Trump impeachment, another low-turnout event with the public.

French tourist's Valentine's Day surprise for his girlfriend ends with him getting his throat slit at random by a crazed man in Harlem

A French photographer who flew into New York to take his girlfriend on a surprise Valentine's date is recovering in the hospital after having his throat slit in Harlem.

Gabriel Bascou, 28, was slashed in a random attack in the street as he left an IHOP with his 23-year-old girlfriend Manon Duma on Friday.

Gruesome photos and a video shared by Bascou on social media show a deep gash on his neck from ear-to-ear as he lies in bed with a tube coming from his throat after a tracheotomy.

Police have charged 28-year-old local man Khalief Young with the crazed attack. He is said to have carried out at least two random attacks before.
