Thanks for posting this update of a class act and ageless wonder.
I met Richard about 30 years ago when he had his gym in Tallahassee , Fl.
He was actually working arms when I was there.
Unreal how massive his arms looked for his overall size and wt.

I remember he had this really pretty blonde gf, working the desk there.
Not sure why , but I ran into him at an expo years later  and asked him about her.
He smiled, shook his head and said something about how it never worked out with her.
I gotta say, she was a real beauty and seemed quite sweet.

He was immersed in his dissertation for his PhD in ancient languages and culture.
I know he ended up having a teaching career on at one of the FSU branches.

Amazing how he's maintained so well over the decades.

I'm pretty sure he quit one of the classic bodybuilding sites (IA maybe) after arguing with guys who accused him of juicing. Seemed an immature man who has remained single and childless his whole life hence the self absorbed obsession for social media acceptance in his dotage years.  All very sad for a very good third tier bodybuilder who coulda been a winner.   I seem to remember someone posed a "rate my professor" thing and his students basically said he was a condescending arsehole.  I suspect his rage may come from remaining in the closet instead of being true to himself and accepting his homersexuality.

It is not "knowledge" that is required to maintain his physique at his age, rather it is sufficient testosterone.  I suspect you knew that but chose to word it the way you did out of respect for and in deference to his intellectual accomplishments.
