1. Yes, I voted for Obama once in 2008. Politics aside, I felt that he acted like a dignified, well spoken leader.
2. I like and admire  Joe Biden and find the others you mentioned to be mature adults despite not always agreeing with their politics.

When I was young, I was strongly considering going into the service. One of my best friends at the time  who was a year older, joined the Air Force. When he came back on leave, I asked him if he thought it was a good idea for me to join. He said no, that I was too smart and the Air Force wasn't for anybody who had a brain.

There was a World War II vet who used to live in my building. I once asked him what it was like to be in a war. He told me about the time that he was on patrol and  saw a dead German soldier lying on the side of the road. Three days later on patrol he saw the same soldier lying there.
