1650 Dollars For A Bedroom Suite??? Fuck That Shit. I Got A Better Idea

This will be a quick one.  I was tired of my "Dana Linn Bailey" bedroom setup of some cheap 20 dollar plastic storage bin drawers.  I did what I had to do which the money I had at the time.  So I decided on getting a urban loft style set to make the bedroom look chic and cool.  However, when I went to this popular place that sells contemporary furniture, I was blown away by the sticker stock.  500 bucks for a 5 drawer chest, 800 bucks for a dresser, 200 for a headboard and 150 dollars for a crummy nightstand.  They tried to convince me about their free setup and delivery service along with a new finance program but I thanked them for their time and walked out the door in disgust.  I'm not some sucker MC who falls for some Beverly Hills Cop Banana In The Tailpipe Bullshit unless its me sticking my banana in another man's tailpipe....but I'm getting off subject.  Lets continue.

So I decided to do my research which led me to a company called Tvilum that makes affordable urban loft furniture.  The only downside is that like IKEA, everything is broken down to the last nail and bolt with a lot of assembly.  In addition, the hardware on the furniture is mostly plastic.  However the pricing on the furniture is super affordable and because it could be purchased at Walmart, I was able to use my Sam's Club Gift Cards.  The dresser was just 219.00, the 5 drawer chest was 80 dollars, the nightstands were 51 bucks.  I can dig that.  I had about 200 dollars in gift cards so I end, I spend about 140 bucks total.  Walmart also gives free shipping over 100.00 along with 2 day shipping time

Everything got there fast by the UPS driver and I helped haul it in.  Here is some of the goods...still waiting on nightstands but they will be here Wednesday.

Assembly was the biggest thing.  I started out with the 5 drawer chest.  It was a lot of instructions and there was no wording...just pictures which actually would be a good thing for people who can't read or write.  Took about 4 hours to get the first piece down

I took a break and had dinner and then started on the main dresser.  Assembly was the same so I was able to go a little faster but it still took 3 1/2 hours as it had more drawers and items to put together.  There's a lot of complaints on this but its really due to them using electric screwdrivers which warp the drillings.  If you assemble any furniture Getbiggers, always use hand tools.  You won't save time with electric shit and you're more likely to damage the shit.  

Here's the main dresser freshly finished and the next picture is with its current setup.  I'll get some proper decor later like some 5% hats, white hood and some fake Rolex watches

Now remember when I said that one of the downsides of the furniture was the cheap plastic handles instead of metal.    No problem, I used to work at Lowes so I have 13 of these coming for 1.49 each.  Hardware prob solved.  Too easy

I'll update this thread when the nightstands and the headboard gets here...BTW, headboard was 70 bucks.  But that's pretty much it Getbiggers.  No financing...just had to sweat through 7 1/2 hours of assembly.  That's all baby...That's SportsCenter....

That's what I ask people every day....They go to places like Rooms To Go and get a whole bunch of marked up shit with the premise of no interest for 3 years not realizing that they make their money from the markups to begin with and collecting 3 yrs interest for people who forget payments as a bonus.  The even more stupid people go to Rent A Center......


The country is in debt but a lot of people do it to themselves.  I simply removed the labor and hardware equation to get the best deal.
