He looked better in '96 than he did in '97. In fact, he weighed more at the '96 Mr. O than he did at the '98 Mr. Olympia. He brought up his weight from 230-235 pounds from '95 to 250 pounds in '96/'97.

I think the 1997 RGP was where Levrone gave Ronnie vodka to drink the night before and he came in dry the next day at the contest lol

amazing how big he got after turning pro 91/92 looked good ,,then 95 he jumped to next level,then 97/98/99 the big jump..then he got too heavy in 2000's ,but sheer mass wise it was some amount he piled on ..drugs and more drugs helped ever inch of the way...

I do agree with you that he did looks better in '98 than anything that came before. He dialed it in, much like Samir Banout did in '83. But unlike Samir, Ronnie was able to constantly improve (arguably so until 2003).

Wrong , Ronnie didn't improve after 98 , in fact digressed. 98 was his best ( admittedly ) 99 he was off from 98 , 2000 off from 99 , 2001?  2002

yeah, didn't get the point he was trying to make there. 2001 he was off at the O, Arnold was great, then 2002 was a regression, so much so that it increased the impact of 2003. If Ronnie went from his 2000 size to 2003, it wouldn't have been as monumental an impact, for example.


2000 Ronnie was massive in is own right. It's my favorite year of his, combination of size and his waist wasn't totally blown out yet.

That pic is real. No photoshop at all. It was at the 2000 Doug Schneider's World Qualifier. I saw that guest posing live on TV. The commentators were so shocked at Ronnie's size, all they could say was how much of a freak he was. He was so massive.
