Nice work. Roy always a favourite. Good candor. But, too long! Less than an hour, please. There's a reason psych sessions are short.

listen to it over a few sessions one hour isn't near enough time for a decent interview.

Always underated. He was amazing at the 1980 Olympia. Nice to know he is a humble guy. Comes across as decent human being.

Thanks for saying that. The point of the interviews is to get a full history of their bodybuilding careers. Sometimes I make them two parts, like the one I just did with
Dorian. I decided to make Roy's just one instead of two parts.

He was a trainer at the gym I went at as a kid.
He only trained women cause he said male bodybuilders ask everybody for advice and don't follow the plans.

One day someone told him he wanted to be a bodybuilder but natural.
Roy told him: then pick up another sport

He talks about his training on the podcast. He said he stuck with the basics and he trained heavy and hard. He loved training. He hurt his lower back
training with Louie Ferrigno doing T-Bar Rows one year.

Yes, in the '80's and '90's. Then I competed in the natural organizations for about 10 years. I came back last year and competed at the NPC Tim Gardner Extravaganza and NPC Florida State.

I'm guessing we r close to the same age John. U sure brought back a lot of memories. These guys were my life. Reading the mags back then. What a wonderful interview. That's some great stuff. Roy is a class act.
