I know that this thread was about race. But I made an addition to the thread.

I know 2 older women that are unmarried and have no children. They have both acquired pets and have began speaking of their pets as if they were their children. It's all they talk about. The pets are clearly the center of their these two women's lives. The pets are their #1 priority, above all else. I think that it is a mental illness bourne out of loneliness.
