It amazes me how far we have come in terms of diplomacy. In ancient times, if the Romans found out about the wealth of the Middle East, then they would go on a campaign to conquer them. For all of the shit that the world gives the United States, they should realize that we could have taken that oil a long time ago  We are a civilized bunch however, and simply choose to do good business deals instead.

If America wanted the Middle East (and all of its oil, heroin etc...) then we would just take it.
