Ok Getbiggers.....1987 BMW 325i....What do you think???
« on: July 30, 2017, 08:01:27 AM »
My Ford Taurus is getting to the end of its life so I'm intending on going back to Whitey's in a few weeks.  However, I happened upon this 1987 BMW 325i.  Car is rough looking but I with a good detailing, color correction on the paint, and some serious scrubbing and vacuuming of the carpet, it could be a great little extra ride.  In case you guys haven't figured out, I prefer older vehicles....ones with solid steel and mechanical parts without any silly computers unless its one I put in.  However, I'm not very familiar with BMW's and I'm honestly not a fan of them as they have rear wheel drive.  However, this one I actually like and it would be good for picking up....well liberals. ;D

Nice car. You might stuggle to get parts due to its age.

Don't do it.  This car will be a serious money pit and very unreliable.
If you need a reliable and affordable daily driver stick with Toyota or Honda.  Only consider this car if it's not your primary car to get to work.

Never owned a Toyota.  Only had one Honda vehicle and it was actually the first one I bought from Whitey's Auto Auction back in 1998.  I was a 1986 Honda Prelude which I got for 1525.00.  Looked exactly like this one except that mine had a electric sunroof and I placed a tinted bug catcher on top.  It looked awesome when I waxed and detailed it and it was a great ride.  I put a sub in the back and installed a cherry bomb muffler for it along with Pirelli Tires with a white lettering showing.  Cruising downtown in that ride blasting Timberland & Magoo was awesome.

I honestly should have never got rid of it as I traded it for a 300ZX that blew a head gasket a year later.. ::)

Toyota's may not be the most visually appealing cars, but I know how you like to save money.  They are very easy on the wallet.  You can pretty much guarantee 200K miles on on Toyota with no major expenses.  Once you own one you'll understand.

Don't do it.  Very expensive to fix.

Buy 2000-2010 Honda, Nissan or Toyota.  Very reliable cars and the parts are plentiful.

Agreed. IMO, the ideal car if you just want something to get from point A to point B reliably is the Toyota Camry.

I buy and sell everything...cars, antiques, vintage computers, etc.  I've made about 6000 dollars this year so far from it.  When people sell their cars, they value it based on the condition they left it in so they screw themselves out.  An easy wash, wax, and detailing makes all the difference

Vince why didn't you used your family connections to promote Caliber Fitness Solutions?

Vince the only people who under value their things are those who have money not to care.

A non maintained  1987 BMW for 1500 isn't under valued,  unless you get it for 800. An odometer stuck on 97 and the guess is 160k on a 30yr old car? They are working you bro.

The e30 is one of the most reliable cars you can get. Especially if in manual form. Tons of parts available and super simple to work on. The m20b25 is a superb motor! Just make sure you change that timing belt!

Odometer not working are very common on many German cars of this era. My 84' 318i is well over 300k

Not working isn't that big of deal I just thought it was odd that they guesstimate mileage at 160k. How long was it not working, because the car is 30 years old

I have a good running e30 sedan for sale, odometer stopped at 97k miles and approximately had about 160ish , runs and drives good, would make great daily driver
Has some cosmetic issues, and AC will need a charge, please don't expect a perfect car for this price, it's a solid car
Automatic
1500 or best offer and I'm pretty negotiable, make me an offer
CALL or text 864-386-7zero15

SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY!!

Why would you try to flip a  car with a broken odometer?  There's no way you or the person you sell it to can know how many miles it actually has.

I used to have an early 90's Celica GT-Four which was very visually appealing. The Supra was nice as well. I love my 1996 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo much better though.

Typical male who tries to get a car that gives him more status. What you need is a pickup truck so you can pick up things and deliver them. Lots of stuff thrown away or given away.

I've already answered that question...I'm not been involved in training athletes for over a decade.  Not only that, I was selling orange juice so I don't think my business would have been very helpful to them at the time.

I could get the car for 800 but because I don't study BMW's that much, I wasn't sure.  Odometer is meaningless as it has a salvage title and can be easily fixed.

Your momma looks like a pile of bullshit but I've put the postings and the threads up of practically everything I've done...auctions, flea markets, etc and I don't hide behind a gimmick name.  When you show any inclination that you are a human being that doesn't hide behind a computer in your momma's basement then come talk to me, mother fucker.
