Great interview. How about Ed Corney?

Bump...

Another good interview, John. Someone forward Charles a link to Raw Iron on YT or mail him out the 25th anniversary of Pumping Iron!  :)

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I was doing the interview! He's never even seen the footage from Raw Iron.

I did, I sent him the youtube link after reading this thread. I was surprised he never saw it.

Great, hopefully he can access YT and enjoys all the out-takes.

One possible reason why some of the makers maybe don't pay close attention to things like that is because they're (referencing Arnold's quote) climbing higher, conquering, achieving, etc. Staying hungry, basically. Not that we aren't, but for the makers of a specific thing, maybe they put that on the backburner once it's all done and complete, satisfied with their accomplishment, and focus on all of the other things going on from then on.

It's great that you were able to remind him of Pumping Iron and he can view these previously new-to-him out-takes and clips.  :)

I think all those outtakes were put out by Arnold at the 25th Anniversary of the movie (2002) and I think it was tied into him running for Governor. Arnold bought all the film footage from George Butler years before that.

John, your interviews are tops.  Did you ever think about sending your interviewees or whatever you would call them a decent quality microphone? I am thinking you can use the Postal Service in the $10 shipping box send them a decent microphone and then send them a return address label so they can  send it back after the interview.  Your content is awesome. And you always sound extremely clear but the people on the other end often the sound is horrible. Mike Katz for example  has great content but for me it's not enjoyable to listen to because his voice is so muffled and if I'm listening on my phone it's not clear at all you're really loud and he's low and muffled and if I put it through my stereo and turn it up he just becomes more muffled.
Any thoughts on how to get your subjects more clear on their end?

Thank you. I really don't know how to improve the quality. I do the interviews by Skype because that's the most convenient for most people. Of course, doing it in a studio like Joe Rogan does would be the best but it's very difficult to get most of the guys to commit to doing it by Skype let alone doing it in person. The only one I was able to interview in person was Chris Cormier when he was staying in Tampa for a couple months. I don't use a microphone on my end for the Skype interviews, I just use my computer mic so I'm not sure if that would help the audio on their end. I do use a microphone for my podcast interviews however.
