Directionally, can’t think of a reason why Ohtani WOULDNT want N.Y. , unless there’s some west coat thing.  He almost signed with LA at age 18.   It’s not about the money though, so who knows.  NY makes atoms of sense from the outside - young team on verge, Yanks beloved in Japan, Tanaka / Matsui, etc...
